Sophia Hinkebein
Hey! My name is Sophia Hinkebein and I am from Rogers, AR. I am a sophomore in the Bumpers College Honors Program majoring in Food Science with a minor in General Business. I am inspired by all things food and all the compositional processes required to make it nutritious. The way food influences the way we live, develop, and interact is fascinating to me.
Being surrounded by the agriculture community within the Bumpers College has expanded my interest and understanding of all that goes into the food we eat. Using my degree in Food Science, I hope to work in product development to create high quality, nutritious products. The Bumpers Honors program has been an amazing tool, leading me to many other interests in sustainability, leadership, and travel. I am delighted to assist students as they find and grow into their own passions. The Bumpers College, and University of Arkansas as a whole, has so many amazing and valuable resources to offer. In addition to peer mentoring I serve as the Sustainability Coordinator for my sorority and the Treasurer and Co-Founder of a Hiking RSO; I am also a member of the Student Dietetic Association. I love the outdoors and being active (hiking, biking, running, climbing, you name it!), travel, reading, and spending time with family and friends. I am thrilled to be a bumpers mentor this semester!
